The Band are delighted to announce that after several fantastic results in recent months we have been promoted to the Second Section - not just in the North West but at National level as well!
" This double promotion is an outstanding achievement for Morecambe Brass Band. Our consistent contest performances have fully merited the success the band has now gained. I am expecting a solid year in the new section - with hopefully some success along the way."

Easter Concert
The band performed their now traditional Easter Concert at the Platform on Saturday night, receiving glowing reports from the packed audience. The programme included a number of beautifully played solos - Share My Yoke (Paul Woodhead - Prinipal Cornet), Dmitri (Carol Blaylock - Flugel Horn), The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (Jeff Cunningham - Solo Horn). Particularly moving for both band and audience alike was Pie Jesu, a duet showcasing the talents of both Carol Blaylock and Samantha Barbary (Soprano Cornet).
Not usually noted for being a 'solo instrument' Colin Hendra gave his all performing Drummer's Delight with much gusto!!
The event was being recorded as we are about to release a new CD - further details to follow......
Many thanks to all who helped make the event a great success - hope to see you all in a few weeks in Happy Mount Park when we kick off the 'Bands in the Park' season. (see Engagements section for details of upcoming events)
