With the departure of Chris Larder we welcome back Andrew Warriner who will be helping us out during the vacancy and who will prepare the band for the forthcoming Fleetwood Contest on Sunday October 7th. Andrew is no stranger to Morecambe Band having been the MD in 2001 when the band became National Champions.

This week (31st August) marks the end of another chapter in the long history of our band with the resignation of our Musical Director Chris larder. Chris moved to Morecambe from Music College in September 2003 to take up a teaching job. This move coincided with our searching for a new MD and Chris fitted our requirements perfectly. Its thanks to him that the band has been able to rebuild after the mass exodus of players experienced during 2003/04. Now four years on once again we have a competent contesting senior band much in demand locally and with an ever increasing loyal following at Concerts and during the summer in Happy Mount Park. Chris has recently taken on a senior job at a local secondary school and feels he cannot give the commitment to the Band that is required, hence his moving on as from 1st September. Everyone connected with the Morecambe Brass Band Association wishes Chris well in his steadily advancing career. He has been a totally committed and enthusiastic leader and we shall miss his ever cheerful presence and skillful leadership.
